Making Progress at the Warm Springs Preserve in Ketchum, Idaho
We’re thrilled to announce that our community-led Vision Plan for the Warm Springs Nature Preserve and Dog Park is complete!
This month, we presented the final vision plan to the community, council members and stakeholders. Through public meetings, comment letters, and survey responses, we have incorporated feedback from the community to create a space that enhances both the natural habitat of the preserve and experience for visitors and their furry companions. Pond-ering Trails and Accessibility at Warm Springs
Creating accessible trails and spaces was one of our top priorities on this project. To make portions of the floodplain accessible, we’ve proposed a footbridge over the creek. In areas where we were unable to add footbridges, we proposed stepping stone creek crossings.
The proposed pond will make a splash for the furry friends of Ketchum, which in turn will be beneficial to restoring Warm Springs Creek. Carving out intentional spaces for different user groups will benefit the community and the environment, including space for dogs and their owners separate from the nature enthusiasts and wheelchair accessible viewing areas.
In honor of over the 900 donors that saved the preserve, we have proposed a variety of donation plaque options throughout the preserve on sight furnishings and the welcome building.
