Flex Park at Virginia Key is an 18-acre waterfront park located on a city-owned barrier island just off the coast of downtown Miami. Currently comporised of a vast parking lot for the  shuttered Miami Marine Stadium, the site became home to a number of major events including the Miami International Boat Show. But the pressures of a growing urban metropolis and sea level rise required a radical rethinking of how the surface functions.

The proposed design for Flex Park  Flex Park that could transform an underutilized urban site into a dynamic open space experience that is highly adaptable to meet the diverse community needs critical to Miami’s future.
